These classes are offered by Cathy Schuberth from Green with Envy Interior Decorating, LLC. All classes are held at Workshop for Women.
Cathy is a professional social worker who uses her skills to ensure that a space reflects who the persons are that inhabit it. After a lifetime of repurposing items into beautiful treasures, decorating her own homes and consequently, the homes of family, friends and neighbors, she decided to combine her social work skills, passion for changing social, economic, and political problems such as global warming, and her creativity and style to create a new business. After studying interior decorating, Cathy founded Green with Envy Interior Decorating, LLC in early 2007. It is a passion of Cathy’s to share her knowledge with others on how to create living and working environments that are beautiful, reflect the homeowner’s personality and are healthy for people, animals and the planet.

Are you an HGTV junkie, but cannot figure out how to create the right design in your own home? In this class you will learn how to use color, space planning and furniture arrangement to create the perfect space. You will learn which colors work best together, and how to create the ideal color scheme to match the mood and setting for which you are seeking. Come to class with a space in mind that is causing design problems. You will have the opportunity to learn about space planning and optimal furniture arrangement in your chosen room. At the end of the class you will know how to use these three elements to help you meet the principles of design and to create a room that you’ll love!

Did you know that lighting contributes greatly to people’s sense of well-being? Lighting is the essential ingredient in any design. It gives a space life. In this class, you will learn about various types of lighting and how to select a lighting plan that meets the function of a room and sets the appropriate mood and creates harmony. In addition, you will learn how to make your own table lamp and see how to create beautiful lighting from inexpensive items.
